Roskomnadzor began to lock down Telegram on 16 April
Analysts from Skolkovo believed that Russian companies would lose about a billion dollars, if Roskomnadzor does not stop massively blocking IP adresses. Google and Amazon would lose about the same, Mash said on Thursday.

On 13 April, the Tagansky District Court of Moscow granted an action for the immediate blocking the messenger in the Russian Federation, which earlier had refused to hand over the keys to the FSB to encryption. In addition, Roskomnadzor announced its intention to restrict access to Internet resources that contribute to its work. On 16 April, the telecom operators started the blocking procedure.

Also on 16 April, Roskomnadzor began blocking the IP addresses of the Amazon and Google subnets that Telegram uses for the messenger's work. As a result of these Roskomnadzor's actions information about failures in the work of third-party resources that their hosting used began to appear.

The founder of Telegram Pavel Durov said that he was ready to pay millions of dollars of personal money as grants for proxy and VPN administrators to ensure the work of the messenger.
