The questions of Western journalists to the Syrians who attended the briefing of Russia in The Hague are a part of the campaign to intimidate those who wanted to sincerely tell everything that happened to them, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Friday.

"Journalists in this case are instruments in the hands of propagandists. There is no doubt that this was a bunch of journalists and a bunch of Western diplomats. They did everything to disrupt this event. However, more than 50 countries came, and a group of 17 Western states did not attend the briefing," she noted.

Zakharova showed a video fragment from the briefing where Western journalists asked questions to the Syrians, how much they were paid to change the testimonies than they were intimidated; and whether Russia has thought about how a small boy Khasan would be able to cope with international media.

"The boy was taken out of the country, torn by conflicts," Zakharova said, adding that after such a question he's not worried about journalists.

On 26 April, Russia organized a briefing in The Hague for the member countries of the OPCW organization and a press conference for the media. The topic was the discussion of the video presentation of "White Helmets" about the chemical attack in Syria.

"Moscow has done its best to bring a group of residents from the Duma, some of whom have already testified to the experts of the UN OPCW ... Russia wanted to bring the whole truth about the situation, but Western partners boycotted the event. The truth is painful to listen to," she said.

Zakharova recalled that the video "White Helmets" about the alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria by the government is a categorical provocation directed by opponents of a peaceful settlement of the situation.
