London "surpassed" Washington in anti-Russian rhetoric, State Duma deputy Alexey Zhuravlyov believes.

"If you can still hear something positive about our country from the side of the United States and Trump himself, the Big Ben pendulum has long been frozen in the position of "maximum Russophobia," the politician writes on his twitter.

The chairman of the party "Rodina" added that Britain "stiffened to the end".

"Britain, glorious by its traditions, has become stark in the end. Big Ben has long been time to reconfigure and lubricate!" - he said.

Earlier, the media reported that London was concerned about the possibility of a meeting between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, if it takes place before the NATO summit and the visit of the head of the White House to Britain.

According to The Times, London's concern is that the meeting between Trump and Putin may negatively impact the US president's commitment to NATO's goals. The NATO summit is scheduled for July 11-12 in Brussels, and Trump's visit to the UK on 13 July.
